Those 4 weeks off really took it's toll. Not being presented with a consistent enforcement of my exercises, I admit I have not been following up very well with my exercises. Now that I have started PT again, I am sore. I don't think I have been this sore after exercising in a while, and all I did was about an hour of work.
One of the defining moments of my therapy yesterday was after I did 2 sets of 20 lunges. I was introduced to a new jumping drill, to get me started with my more aggressive regimen. I step onto a small platform (probably 6 inches off of the ground) and jump off, landing and exaggerating my landing some to make sure I have proper absorption of the impact. My first jump? I almost collapsed on my landing. :) I guess I needed a little rest before continuing on.
Now that I am cleared for using the elliptical (and we will start running soon as well) things should start progressing much quicker. I can't wait for more torture!

The summer months

You know, the Phoenix area is great during the winter. The summertime, eh, not so much. A couple of nights ago, it was pretty miserable trying to sleep. I have my thermostat set for 80 during the evenings to try and save a few dollars on our electric bill. Usually, this temperature isn't really that bad when you are sleeping, but for some reason both Tammy and I just couldn't stand it.
We have a stand alone fan that we have put in Josh's room to keep him cooler (his room is above the garage, so it gets WAY hot in there). I had to grab the fan from his room in the middle of the night and put it back into our room to cool us off. Don't worry, Josh was already in our bed as usual.
This prompted a trip to the store to buy another fan. I must say, last night's sleep was much more comfortable with that fan running!
