It's been a while since I have provided an update on my recovery status. After I was on partial weight bearing for those 2 weeks, I was able to ditch the crutches. Thankfully, the transition to walking again wasn't too bad. I was off the crutches for about 4 days before I went in for my first physical therapy session. I must say that the physical therapy is pretty enjoyable; being able to push myself some with exercises that don't stress my ACL. I'm going through some electric stimulation, stationary bike, balance exercises, step ups and lateral step ups and other side step exercises. On top of that, I get an incision massage and ice to end the session. The sessions take about 1.5 hours and I am in them 2 times a week.
I have 3 more weeks of therapy until I take about a month off. During that month off, I will continue with my own exercises at home. But when I go back to therapy I will be cleared to really push the envelope. I know that my physical therapist will like that - she seems to enjoy the fact that she has somebody to push around.
